The 1st annual Pass the Handle ? Discover Water Sports Day will take place at a lake near you on July26, 2014. This is an incredible awareness-driven concept drawn up by legendary wakeboarders Shaun Murray and Zane Schwenk, encompassing any towed-water-sport enthusiast to get out on the water and extend their passionate arm to people in need of an awesome activity. The concept is simple: Find a buddy or buddies who don?t already take advantage of the amazing sports included under the towed-water-sports umbrella and get them on the water. Take them out, teach them how to ride and introduce them to the same fun lifestyle of being on the water that we enjoy. Our goal is to truly engage those already involved to ?share the stoke? and teach as many people as they can to ride. We would like this initiative to focus on safe towed water sports and to eventually create a reward-based program to encourage those who are hyper enthused to help expand the sport by incentivizing them to teach more and more new riders. Although this is the first year of Pass the Handle, we expect this concept to grow legs and become the day that we can reach the masses, expand our user base and get the general public more engaged in watersports.

Showcasing some of the most progressive contest riding ever, the world's best wakeboarders used the new MasterCraft XStar's giant wake to keep the crowd of 8,000 fans in awe throughout the final day of competition at the first stop on the 2012 MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour presented by Rockstar Energy Drink. Putting together a final run that was a perfect matrix of huge airs and highly-technical rail maneuvers, Harley Clifford proved to be the day's best, posting a 90 point score to claim victory at the maiden stop on the 2012 Pro Tour.

MASTERCRAFT ATHLETES TOP PODIUM AT MANDURAH WORLD CUP

The EYRES Action Sport Games Mandurah turned out to be the perfect stage for launching the 33rd World Cup Stop for Waterski and Wakeboard. It was also the first Stop ever to be staged in Australia. At the closing ceremony, Mayor Paddi Creevey confirmed that this is part of a four-year agreement with the International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation (IWWF). The event is supported by the State Government through Eventscorp's Regional Events Program, which is funded by Royalties for Regions.

This year, the Pro Tour finale also doubled as the final contest in the eight-event King of Wake and Queen of Wake series, which meant twice as much was on the line for riders in Knoxville.

The MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour will host its 20th annual Pro Tour Awards party on Sunday, August 28, at the Bijou Theater in downtown Knoxville, Tennessee. 2011 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP GOLD MEDALS

As the hot sun sank over the flat calm Volga River in Dubna, Russia, and the MasterCraft boats were moored for the night, many of the 37 competing countries agreed that this was one of the most outstanding IWWF World Waterski Championships in living memory. It had everything. The extensive hospitality of the hosts, enthusiastic volunteers, action filled week-long programme of ceremonies and entertainment, packed Nekhaevskiy Watersports Stadium, extensive live TV and Webcast coverage, and most of all, the extraordinary level of competition.

WORLD WATERSKI CHAMPIONSHIPS BRING HIGH HOPES

The host city of Dubna in Russia has every reason to feel very proud today. The response of the contestants and supporters from 37 countries to their outstanding efforts over the past six years to prepare for this week's 2011 World Waterski Championships has been very warm indeed. Even the weather has been perfect ! The combination of an outstanding Opening Ceremony on the Volga River, a very well organised International Hall of Fame Ceremony at the Cultural Centre, the well attended IWWF World Congress at the International Conference Hall and the superb facilities at the Watersports Stadium, have combined to make this one of the best World Waterski Championships of the International Waterski and Wakeboard Federation (IWWF) to date. Mayor Valery Prokh and his team have set a very high standard for future World Waterski Championships.

PLENTY OF TUESDAY SURPRISES AT WORLD WATERSKI CHAMPIONSHIPS IN DUBNA

Every World Championships has a tough day along the way - and it was here in Dubna today. In beautiful weather and excellent water conditions, Chief Judge Nikki Lee USA and the team were faced with managing and scoring a total of 90 performances - 28 in Slalom and 62 in Tricks. These included Series 5 and 4 in Men Tricks, Series 6, 5 and 4 in Men Slalom and Series 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 in Ladies Tricks. Meanwhile, back on the ranch, the Executive Board Meeting continued all day at the nearby Resident Hotel. Chaired by Jim Grew USA this continued till after 18.00hrs from early morning.

DUBNA ASTOUNDS ALL WITH WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP OPENING CEREMONY

If getting off to a good start is a sign of great things ahead, last night's World Championships Opening Ceremony was easily the most impressive ever staged by a host. As the sun set over the flat calm Volga River Watersports Stadium in Dubna, Russia, the capacity audience of over 25,000 who had all paid handsome prices for their seats, were treated to a very special occasion. The enormous river-side floating stage with digital backdrops, full theatre lighting and sound systems, was placed right beside the Slalom Course - and all awaited the 22.00hrs opening curtain to rise!

2011 WAKEBOARD WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS - LARGEST IN HISTORY

The Championships drew to a close yesterday in Milano, Italy. Held from the 13th to the 17th of July at the incredible Idroscalo facility, this bi-annual competition was the largest Wakeboard World Championships in the IWWF history. 253 Athletes representing 36 IWWF affiliated federations were competing in all categories from under 9's through to open men. Proving the tremendous growth being seen in the sport, the 2011 Championships also saw entries from Columbia, Ecuador, Mexico and Latvia, all competing for the first time. In a joint co-operation with MasterCraft and Dieter Hofer & Pier Decia of MasterCraft.CH, two Parks Edition X-Stars powered by MasterCraft's new engine partner - Ilmor, delivered the world famous wakes for the athletes in competition.

The Global Invitational Water Ski Championships will be making its debut at Millennium Park on July 9-10, 2011. The world's top professional water ski athletes will compete in traditional slalom and long-distance jumping for over $40,000 in prize money. Free-style jumping, wakeboarding, barefoot skiing, hydrofoil, and show skiing will round out the exciting two-day event. The Kent County Parks and Recreation is estimating approximately 10,000 spectators will attend this great event.

SAFE SUMMER BOATING - A MESSAGE FROM JOHN DORTON

With the start of summer, President and CEO John Dorton reminds MasterCraft boaters to be safe out on the water this season. Take the time to review all boating safety equipment, information and rules before you go out with your family and friends. Exercise common sense. The cause of many boating accidents is often the operator's failure to follow basic safety rules or written precautions. Obviously, we are disappointed in the outcome of the trial. We believe the evidence established that the MasterCraft X-45 did not cause this accident. For the first time since 2008, the MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour returned to Acworth, Ga. today to host its 2010 season-opening event. The Pro Tour, which runs through Saturday, May 22, in Acworth at Dallas Landing Park, opened its first day of action with qualifying rounds for 35 riders.

MasterCraft recently jumped on-board to become the official tow boat of the 2010 College Wakeboard Nationals to be televised and aired on CBS College Sports several times throughout the summer. This weekend, May 14-16, join MasterCraft and USA Wakeboard in San Diego for the best ever Collegiate Wakeboard Nationals. The young guns definitely made their mark this past weekend at the Wake Games in the pro men division. There was a lot of anxiety leading up to the weekend. Riders were just ready to get out there and show what theyve been working on. With a modified judging format, riders were rewarded for their overall impression, which consists of a lot of elements. But if you wanted to do well, you had to throw the hardest moves in the sport and, nobody made those moves look better than MasterCrafts Harley Clifford.
