I would say either the strut or shaft is now bent as well.

Pretty good list above, perhaps it could use an engine alignment as well?

Thanks - can you guys give me ballpark estimates of what alignment and possible shaft replacement should cost so I can compare?

alignment will run you about $150 - no parts, just mechanic time. If you're handy you can do this yourself
shaft will run $450 without labor
strut will run $400ish without labor (much more labor involved here - have to break the 3m 5200 seal
A quick test would be to turn the prop by hand. on a properly aligned (engine, strut and shaft) drivetrain you should be able to turn it with your pinky. Also may be stating the obvious here - are you 100% sure the 'new' prop is good?

I had my shaft inspected first before a replacement. It was within spec so I didn't need a new one. Dont remember the cost but it was a heck of a lot cheaper than new... Also, I believe it could have been straightened, but dont hold me to that one though...

With your pinky? so if I can turn mine by hand (but not with my pinky) and there is no vibration, is there a problem? There has to be some resistance/friction in the system. I don't mean to ask a stupid question but I am new to inboards..

Thanks
