After being totally fed up with sticking ballast pumps I found this thread and also polished my three pumps and installed green impellers. What can I say, many thanks prostar205 for making your great job available online. The pumps now always run on the first click, both directions, no more popped CBs, I just love it.

Had a friend rebuild a ballast pump for me today. One of the bearings was rusted and wouldn't spin. New skateboard bearing and it's as good as new. $12 Italian one They were out of the $4 china ones.....

How long before the ballast impellers need to be changed? 09 X2 with 235 hrs. Ballast pumps are working fine and have not noticed any decrease in performance. Still have the OEM impellers (don't know if they are black, yellow or green though, never opened up the pumps).

When I do change are the green impellers still the ones to replace with?

Change them when they stop working. Green is the way to go

Yes the weather has been the best. High 90s for 9 days straight. Water temp is the warmest ever in the 15 years that we've been coming here. Seems we miss each other by a week or so every year. 😳

I did a complete tear down of my pumps today and got them all working again but the bearings are still a little rough so it makes them a little noisy. How did you get those bearings off to change them out? I did not want to hit them too hard thinking that I may make something worse?
