Well, thanks for all the replies. Disappointing to hear that it is such a recurring problem and MC hasn't done much about it.

I'll probably try the epoxy patch reinforced with a glass mesh. I'll then use some type of nylon/plastic/rubber insert in each hole to try to spread the force over a bigger area.

Any other experiences in fixing this problem are appreciated.
