I prefer the single axle trailer. The tandem adds a level of safety and might trailer slightly better. But I trailer so often I like the maneuverability (sp?) of the single axle. And I've made 3 1800 mile round trips along with a bunch of 200-300 mile trips and have zero complaints about my single axle.
