7th National title for Julien Bonnet
September 08, 2007
During the weekend of 8 and 9 September, the canal of Vilvoorde, Brussels was hosting the Belgian Wakeboard Nationals 2007.

With the best riders present, the pressure was on! Current European Wakeboard Champion, Julien Bonnet was tipped as one of the favourites for national gold.

During the qualifications, Julien cheered up the crowd with a massive array of clean and technical tricks.

Although Julien (who is in his 1st year at the Brussels ULB University) was injured earlier this season whilst competing at the European Wakeboard Masters in Switzerland, this couldn’t keep the defending national champion from grabbing another title!

At the Junior Men Finals, the heat was also on! Julien pushed the limit by opening his run with a massive batwing, his signature moby dick, a clean whirlybird, a 360 and a 540 off axis. To finish his stand up pass, he spun into a 720,unfortunately just letting go of the handle.

More than enough for another gold medal and, at only 19 years old, Julien earned his 7th National title on his impressive palmares!

Just a couple more competitions to go before our champion heads to the Worlds, in Qatar, with the National Team.
