![]() Team MasterCraft Riders on Top at the 2007 EAME Wakeboard Championships - South Africa February 17, 2008 The stunning Emerald Casino Resort on the Vaal River in South Africa saw 87 riders from 11 countries competing for the 2007 EAME Wakeboard Championships, a truly spectacular event.
The beautiful location played the perfect host with plenty of action both on and off the water. The Red Bull Free Style FMX Show wowed the crowds with South Africa’s top FMX Riders performing breathtaking stunts, jumping over the PWT Edition X-Star and also a spectacular air display from the local display team, Gabriel Wings which was followed by sky divers dropping in on the action. Team MasterCraft athletes did us proud with 5 riders taking podium finishes behind the fully loaded custom wrapped X-Star. In the girls division, Estelle Tuaz from France rode extremely well following her success at the IWSF World Championships in Doha finishing third in her division. The 15 year old sensation Nicola Butler opted to ride in the Ladies Open category, a brave move despite the stiff competition but one that paid off, landing a huge 360 off the double up securing her the Gold. The eagerly anticipated Open Men division, the several thousand strong crowd lined the river banks and the rider’s didn’t disappoint. Team MasterCraft rider, number 1 seed for the event, Dann Nott of Great Britain opened well but to everyone’s surprise fell on his second pass but it was still enough see him take home bronze. Clayton Krause of South Africa stuck two stand up passes pulling of high end tricks including a huge KGB and a massive Moby Dick with a tail grab landing way out in the flats. Clayton then went on to pull of the biggest trick of the entire competition, throwing a huge Hoochie Glide off the kicker much to the crowd’s delight securing him a Silver Medal Podium finish. All in all, South Africa was a spectacular event that will be remembered as the best EAME Championships to date and congratulations to the Team MasterCraft Riders for taking home such an impressive collection of medals! |
