Nicola Butler Sets Record in Minneapolis
June 08, 2008
The third stop on the MasterCraft US Pro Tour of Wake Boarding played out in cloudy Minneapolis over the weekend. Despite the cool cloudy conditions, the crowds came out to watch the best in the world battle it out for wake boarding supremacy.

Sixteen year old, Nicola Butler set a new US Pro Tour record, being the first female rider to ever win three consecutive tour stops. Her wins put her out to an almost unstoppable lead in the point’s race for the overall tour championship title. Nicola not only took out the Pro Women’s event, she also scored the Mona Vie best trick award for her, front lip 270, front board to fackie over the Billabong Rail.

Andrew Adkison has continued with his stellar performance’s backing up his second place finish last weekend with another second at this weekend’s event. Adkison was first off the dock in the four man final and threw down some huge trick to put the pressure on the other finalists. It paid off, with Adkison claiming second and Rusty Malinoski sitting in third.

The Junior Men’s final was like ‘Battle Royale’, Jimmy LaRiche and Harley Clifford displayed the most impressive riding ever seen in a Junior Men’s final, both standing up perfect runs, and huge money tricks off the double up. Harley was just bumped out by Jimmy for the win, leaving him in second spot. But with four more years left in the Junior Men’s division, Harley Clifford has plenty of time up his sleeve to claim some number one spots.

The next stop on the, Master Craft US Pro Tour of Wake Boarding, heads to the tour’s newest location, Phoenix, AZ. The event will take place on the 28th and 29th June.
